What Amos has
taught me about life:
Amos has taught me
that dogs can come in
horses' clothing. He is
the biggest puppy I've
ever met.
I saw an ad for a Warmblood filly so I made an appointment to
go and view her. We arrived to find the filly in the same
paddock as Amos. He was stunning, flashy and had the
friendliest attitude. He came over to me and rested his forehead
against my chest. "Here I am, scratch me please". I couldn't
take my eyes off of him, although he was out of my price
range. I went home, sold my Jeep and bought him the same
week. Not the wisest plan but sometimes logic flies out of the
window when you meet a pony as handsome as Amos.
When I was fourteen I found a centerfold of a Warmblood
gelding in a horse magazine. He was a stunning chestnut with
flaxen mane and tail with perfectly equal high stockings. He
was gorgeous! I hung the poster in my bedroom and gazed at
the handsome steed. Who would have thought that years later I
would come across a near perfect match?
I was living in Saskatoon when I purchased Amos. He
handled the 7 hour trailer ride like a pro. In the spring he rode
back to Alberta without a care. He is such a good boy!
Amos is one of the most biddable horses I've ever met. I
remember the first night he arrived in Saskatoon off the trailer.
He walked off the trailer and into his box stall like he'd done it
all his life. Nothing much fazes him. He's been saddled, bridled,
lead over trot poles, around pylons, been worked on his own in
the indoor and outdoor arenas, had ropes dangled off of him
and rubbed down with plastic bags. He doesn't seem to mind
anything. He loads and trailers like a dream, and stands well for
grooming and farrier.
Amos is up to date on
vaccinations (including
West Nile Virus and
Potomac Horse Fever),
deworming, dental work
and farrier. He shows
tremendous potential for
dressage. We plan to
start Amos in the Winter
of 2005 and look
forward to his progress!
Amos is an easy keeper and gets along well with other horses.
He has been pastured with horses younger and older than
himself and he doesn't cause any problems. He has been
pastured in a group situation, kept alone in a paddock and a
boxstall with no troubles. He is always the first to the fence
and is very easy to catch. He is a pleasant horse to have around.
The late Arkansas is Amos' grandsire. To view Amos'
registration papers please click here.
SOLD - Thank you to Dana in California. We hope Amos
excels as a Hunter and we wish you every success with him!
