Ramsey is a beautiful dark bay gelding who is loved by my
friend Christine. Christine was looking for a retirement home
for this handsome boy and we said we would LOVE to have
Ramsey join our family. I was looking for a gentle soul to help
young kids learn how to ride and gain confidence on. Ramsey
is just perfect. We cannot thank Christine enough for
entrusting her special boy to us. We know he will love it here
at the ranch spending sunny afternoons grazing the pastures,
napping with the other geldings and being spoiled rotten by
Pony Club kids.

Here is what Christine has to say about Ramsey's life:

"Ramsey was born on May 9th, 1984 in Orangeville, Ontario,
where he was an eventing horse until he was 11 years old.  He
was brought to Calgary in 1995, and shown on the “A”
circuit as a 3’6-3’9 jumper.  In his jumping days he loved to
jump anything and never refused to try a jump.  He was
shown at Thunderbird and Spruce Meadows.  He then moved
to Saskatoon, SK to be with his owner Christine Drew while
she was in university.  He lived the life of a “prairie” horse
and loved being out in a huge field with lots of other horses.
Then we moved to Abbotsford, BC, where we tried out
dressage.  This came easily to Ramsey after dabbling in it in
his earlier years as an eventer.  You should see his extended
trot!!

Ramsey has one of the gentlest hearts and has the sweetest
eyes.  Now that he is older he loves spending his time eating
grass and lounging out in a field.  When under saddle he can
still look and act like he’s a “teenager” and is always excited
to be spoiled and ridden.  He practically puts the bit in his
mouth by himself because he can barely wait to get going.  He
loves treats and will do a trick of standing on 3 legs for
them.  He’s never had problem keeping weight on, he’s what
you’d call an “easy” keeper!!"

We look forward to bringing Ramsey home soon!
Ramsey has arrived! Here he is
getting to know his new friends,
goats Mango and Jerome.
