William Mark Taylor
The next few months brought BIG changes. With Will staying awake for longer stretches and interacting with
us more and more we really got to see his little personality shining through. He is a real character with a
hilarious sense of humour! He also became quite busy. One day he found his hands. He studied them with
great interest. Soon he was able to suck his thumb, put his fingers in his mouth and hold onto toys.
In hindsight the first three months were pretty tough. There were
a lot of sleepless nights, a lot of gassy tummy aches and crying.
We spent a lot of time walking the floor, rocking, massaging and
singing. When Will hit the three month mark we had his tongue tie
clipped which really helped with some nursing problems, resulting
in less tummy aches. Then the fun really began!
Will really enjoys Peek-a-Boo and
bouncing in his ducky Jolly Jumper.
One of the funniest things that has
happened was when Will
discovered his voice. One day he
just started YELLING and he
didn't stop ALL day long. It was
hilarious. He experimented with
different sounds and volumes. He
was quite pleased with his new skill!

Mark is a great Dad! He loves spending time
with Will and takes great care of him. He's a
real 'hands-on' Dad who wades right in and
changes diapers, gives Will baths, plays with
him, reads him stories and rocks him to sleep. I
love watching them interact. It sure is cute to
see Mark and his lil "mini-me" Will spending
time together. Will's little face lights up when he
sees his Daddy.
William 3 Months to 6 Months
The biggest change of all was his SMILE! And OH! What a smile!
Will has a dimple on both sides. His big grin can light up a room.
After the smiles came the laughs. That hearty laugh is quite
addictive! Mark and I spend A LOT of time doing ridiculously
goofy things to entertain Will in hopes of  eliciting a big guffaw
from him. I'm sure he is convinced his parents are crazy.
Will and His Daddy
Will has had a weak eye since birth. A lot of babies are
born this way, but by about 3 months the eye muscles gain
enough strength to straighten out. Will's never did. At 5
months old we went to see an eye specialist in Calgary.
Will has to wear an adhesive eye patch for 8 hours per day
for a month. Will will then require surgery to adjust the eye
muscles. He really dislikes his eye patch but he has been a
real trooper about the entire ordeal! He is such a little star!
The Dreaded Eye Patch
Will and I are involved in lots of activities ranging from
Infant Massage classes to Mom and Baby Groups to
Mom and Baby Yoga. Will is a great traveller and can
nap pretty much anywhere.
Hmmm, I wonder if these fancy eye glasses will
solve the problem? hee hee!
On a beautiful day in mid-March Will, Gramma Alice and I went for a walk with the sled. The dogs
joined us as well! Will enjoyed the walk and fell asleep pretty quickly. He is too big for his little carrier
carseat now, but it works just fine for a sled seat! Doesn't he look nice and cozy!
Will's Favourite Trick
Will's Sledding Adventure
When Will was just about three months old he
mastered the art of thumb sucking. Now he has
moved on to a more challenging target...his big
toe!! Will is forever popping his big toe in his
mouth, especially during changing time. What a
character!
It is amazing to see the changes that occur in a few short months! Its hard to believe our little helpless
newborn is on his way to becoming a little boy! *sniffle* I really didn't expect it to go by so quickly!!
When Will was born I thought "OH MY! He is the MOST beautiful person I've ever seen!" Of course, I
am sure I am the only mother to ever feel that way ;) Then, to my surprise, each day I wake up and think
"WOWEE! HE'S EVEN CUTER TODAY!!" As Uncle Morgan says, "He is soooooo freaking cute...it
hurts. Seriously. I used to think most babies were cute. But Will has ruined all babies for me."  Yup, and
please bear in mind that we are COMPLETELY unbiased. Or maybe you should just smile and nod and
humour us because you know this is how it is with every new baby and the families that love them. What
a joy these past few months are. We are sure looking forward to the next six months and the exciting
changes they will bring...first teeth, first foods, first steps, first words, first wheels, first thesis...ha ha! He
is a baby genius you know!
Mom and Baby Yoga
I joined yoga for the first time when I was 30 weeks pregnant with
Will. I was having a lot of back pain and troubles walking. Can
you blame me? I had a hefty 9 pounder on the way! Yoga was
wonderful! It brought me lots of relief and relaxation. I found the
relaxation and breathing exercises helped me a lot during labour
and delivery as well. After Will arrived we went right back to
yoga. The new mamas do their yoga thing while the babies roll
around on their blankets on the floor. Its wonderful! One of the
most exciting things is that some of these mamas, and the
instructor as well, are from prenatal yoga. Its so exciting to see
their babies growing too. These little guys and gals are growing
and changing so fast. In just a few weeks they all went from being
docile babes laying still on their blankets to crawling, rolling, hair
pulling wrestling machines! So much fun. We are looking forward
to the next session of yoga.
