| Poncho is my Dad's team roping horse. After watching roping for several years my Dad decided it looked like a lot of fun and wanted to try it for himself. He started volunteering to run the chutes at the local ropings while he searched for a horse. It was no small order to fill as my Dad was learning to ride as well as rope! Enter Poncho! Poncho is a seasoned heading and heeling horse. He is a good looking, athletic and amazingly fast Quarter Horse gelding. He is well broke enough that even a new roper can have a wonderful time riding him. Poncho came home in February 2006. At their first roping clinic my Dad and Poncho won a rope for the most promising rookie. They've been enjoying regular ropings several times a week and caught a lot of steers. My Dad has just started heeling so we'll see how that adventure goes. We hope to see this pair competing in the future! |
